Arianespace and AgenaSpace announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore opportunities for cooperation on future missions integrating Autonomous RocketPack, the orbital transfer vehicle (OTV) developed by AgenaSpace, into Ariane 6 launches. The cooperation could enable Arianespace to offer customers an end-to-end solution, from launch through to their final operational orbit.
This initiative reflects Arianespace’s ambition to expand its offering beyond launch services. By leveraging the capabilities of OTVs, Arianespace aims to provide customers with greater flexibility in delivering their satellites to their final operational orbits, in response to evolving market needs.
It also demonstrates Arianespace’s commitment to supporting start-ups that are driving the emergence of new space services. Through its collaboration with AgenaSpace, Arianespace is reaffirming its commitment to fostering a dynamic European space ecosystem, while supporting the development of innovative solutions for the benefit of its customers.
This announcement comes just a few months after a key milestone for AgenaSpace, with MBDA acquiring a stake in the company alongside Aerospacelab, a long-standing investor in the company. This new shareholder structure is designed to strengthen AgenaSpace’s industrial, technological, and commercial capabilities, enabling the company to accelerate the development of its space mobility solutions.
“This MoU with AgenaSpace reflects our ambition to work with the most innovative players in the space ecosystem. By exploring the integration of orbital transfer services into our Ariane 6 missions, we aim to offer our customers greater flexibility and support them all the way to their final destination.” said David Cavaillolès, CEO of Arianespace.
“The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Arianespace is a major validation of our vision and technology. Together, we aim to provide satellite operators with greater flexibility, efficiency, and autonomy for their orbital missions.,” added Pierre-Guy Amand, CEO and Co-founder of AgenaSpace.
