Internship Mission Analysis – Guidance, Navigation and Control

Agena Space team develops key technologies for future satellite platform and strategy for in-orbit service missions, provides system engineering studies, and supports product manufacturing and integration on the platform.

We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled intern to join our team for studies focused on Mission Analysis – Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects and gain hands-on experience in the field of satellite technology. 

You will then

  • Conduct mission analysis, rendezvous, proximity & docking operations 
  • Apply knowledge of orbital mechanics and astrodynamics. 
  • Develop and optimize Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems. 
  • Design and implement Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS). 
  • Work with spacecraft sensors and actuators, such as StarTracker, reaction wheels and thrusters. 
  • Utilize optimization techniques to enhance system performance. 
  • Demonstrate programming and scripting skills in Python, Matlab-Simulink, and C++. 

Must have

  • Strong background in mission analysis and trajectory design. 
  • Proficient in orbital mechanics and astrodynamics. 
  • Experience with Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) systems. 
  • Knowledge of Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS) design. 
  • Familiarity with spacecraft sensors and actuators. 
  • Proficiency in optimization techniques. 
  • Excellent programming and scripting skills in Python, Matlab-Simulink, and C++. 
  • Familiarity with the following mission simulation tools would be an asset: GMAT, STK 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

Nice to have

  • Pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Previous internship or project experience in the aerospace industry. 
  • Familiarity with spacecraft simulation software.
