Internship Mechanical & AIT

Agena Space team develops key technologies for future satellite platform and strategy for in-orbit service missions, provides system engineering studies, and supports product manufacturing and integration on the platform.

Making space an agile journey is our moto.

Are you a space enthusiast with a talent for squeezing a lot into a little?

We are looking for a Mechanical AIT Intern to design and integrate the key components of our propulsion system and our spacecraft. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to ensure every part, from propellant tanks to electronic housings, fits together perfectly, while keeping an eagle eye on weight reduction and system compactness. You’ll need to balance creativity with rigorous engineering discipline to turn conceptual designs into reality.

You will then

  • Design, develop, and integrate complex mechanical systems that will propel the tomorrow’s satellites.
  • Dive deep into CAD software to create detailed models and assemblies.
  • Use Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to ensure the structure can withstand the mechanical and thermal loads (static and dynamics loads).
  • Optimize topological features to increase performance while minimizing mass.
  • Work closely with the team to prototype and iteratively develop designs, incorporating feedback and improvements along the way.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of functional dimensioning and tolerancing standards.

Must have

  • Engineering student
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems in aerospace or similar high-precision industries
  • Hands-on experience with CAD tools, particularly SolidWorks or NX
  • Familiarity with FEA tools
  • Good command of English and French
  • A high degree of proactivity and autonomy

Nice to have

  • Thorough understanding of functional dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Good knowledge in materials such as aluminum alloys, honeycomb structures, composites, and ceramics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to consider our customer’s integration constraints.
  • A strong willingness to be part of an execution-first and results-oriented team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Enjoy explaining what you do.
